20 April 2026 National Year of Reading Event for all our schools! Inspire Education Trust marked the National Year of Reading with a Trust‑wide author and illustrator event at Blue Coat School, bringing together Year 5 and Year 7 pupils from across our primary and secondary schools. The event reflects Inspire’s strong commitment to reading for pleasure, literacy development and high‑quality enrichment opportunities. Led by bestselling author Adam Kay and illustrator Henry Paker, pupils explored how writing and illustration combine to create published books. Using Dexter Procter: The 10‑Year‑Old Doctor, pupils gained insight into the creative process while developing enthusiasm for reading and storytelling. 27 February 2026 Frederick Bird Hosts Second Annual Community Iftar Frederick Bird Academy in Coventry hosted its second annual Community Iftar, bringing together pupils, families, staff and the wider community to mark Ramadan. The evening included talks about the meaning and etiquette of Ramadan, a pupil quiz, the call to prayer and a shared meal, celebrating inclusion, respect and unity across different faiths.
